DONTOG HYDROPONICS aims to market fresh and organic vegetables, berries, and herbs produced from new and innovative farm practices. These practices require no use of insecticides and other chemicals. In particular, we adopted hydroponics farming.
Hydroponics farming is a method of growing plants from water without the use of soil; thus, the term hydroponics derived from the Greek words “hydro” (water) and “ponos" (work). It is the water that does all the work of delivering nutrients to the plant roots.
For a plant to grow, it needs water, sunlight, and nutrients. In hydroponics, the nutrients are dissolved in the water, and they circulate in the system. With these, the roots do not have to seek out the nutrients as they already have easier access to the needed nutrients. As a result, the plants tend to grow faster and healthier. See less
